Introduction to the Arctic

The Arctic is located at the most northern part of the Earth, consisting of a vast, ice-covered ocean. It is known to be a habitat for animals such as the Polar bears, Seals, Walrus, Arctic fox, Arctic hare, Whales, the Musk ox and the Caribous.
However, the Arctic is a highly sensitive region and it has been greatly affected by the change of climate due to global warming. Its average temperature is rising twice as fast as other countries in the world and because of that, the arctic sea Ice is getting thinner as it melts and begins to rupture and diminish. The largest single block of ice in the Arctic, the Ward hunt ice shelf, has been around for 3000 years, but it started to crack in 2000 and had thus split all the way through within 2 years.

Moreover, due to global warming, these animals living in the Arctic are in danger. They have to change their feeding and migration patterns in order to adapt to the environment and to survive.

We will be updating our blog with causes and effects of global warming, and how it affects the animals in the Arctic. So stay tune, & don't forget to Stop. Save. Love the animals!
